A Fundraiser and Koloa Plantation Days

July 02, 2018

Kauai always offers something special for its visitors, and this month is no exception. First, join us for the 22nd Annual Concert in the Sky. This yearly concert and fireworks show not only celebrates our country’s independence but is also a fundraiser for Kauai Hospice. The concert will be held at the Vidinha Stadium in Lihue. Next, be sure to stick around for a weeklong tribute to the island’s plantation heritage. Koloa Plantation Days will be held July 20-29, and will include such events as a parade, the Hapa Road Walk, the Paddle Fest, the Paniolo Rodeo, the Sunset Ho'olaule'a, a miniature golf tournament, a craft fair, traditional Hawaiian games, entertainment, and lots of delicious ethnic food!

A family fun run, a Keiki Ukulele contest, and the Koloa Rum Plantation Heritage Dinner are additional featured events. The festival also honors the rich cultural diversity of Kauai and the historic traditions of the Koloa. Additionally, the Annual Koloa Plantation Days Rodeo will feature kids Mutton-Busting, or sheep-riding, Keiki Barrel Racing, Junior Steer riding, and Stickhorse/Dummy Roping. The adult events include Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Wild Cow Milking, Break-away Roping, and High Dollar Team Roping. For more information, click here.
