Honoring Kauaiā€™s Cultural Heritage and Island-Grown Products

October 01, 2018

From a celebration of Queen Emma, to coffee and chocolate, to a walking and storytelling tour, Kauai has some wonderfully entertaining events for our guests this month. First, we invite you to join us in honoring Queen Emma at the Eo e Emalani Festival on October 13 at Kokee State Park. The festival will feature Hawaiian music and chants, outstanding food, crafts, exhibits, and more. Queen Emma and her entourage will arrive on horseback at 11:00 a.m. Visitors are encouraged to carpool and bring their own seating. Next up is the Kauai Chocolate & Coffee Festival in historic Hanapepe Town on October 19-20.

This festival will feature chocolate and coffee products that are grown in Hawaii, and will include lots of sampling, entertainment, exhibitor booths, farm tours, and more. Lastly, the Hanapepe Walk and Talk Story will be ongoing twice weekly through January 3, 2019. This 90-minute trek is a delightful journey into the past, with stories that both entertain and educate. Along with the stories, participants will be treated to breathtaking views of Hanapepe Valley, and strain their ears to hear the ghostly voices from the Hanapepe Massacre at the century-old town bridge.
